In this paragraph, Rachel is definitely fighting an internal conflict because she is dealing with her emotions, fighting back the urge to cry. The fact that she urges to cry is suggested by "the part of me that's three wants to come out of my eyes." This statement is a metaphor that simply means, "tears want to come out of my eyes" or "I want to cry."

These events build internal conflict for Anita as everything she has ever known is crumbling to her eyes.
