To graph a line, all you need is two points, we already know the line goes through (3, -4), and we know its slope is -2 or -2/1, so simply "run it by 1 unit" and "rise it by -2 units", to get a second point,

\bf slope=\cfrac{\stackrel{rise}{-2}}{\stackrel{run}{1}}\qquad(\stackrel{x}{3},\stackrel{y}{-4})\qquad \qquad  (\stackrel{x+1}{4}~~,~~\stackrel{y-2}{-6})

that's the second point, now just run the line through those two.

For the function f(x) = (x − 2)2 + 4, identify the vertex, domain, and range.
DanielleElmas [232]
I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is option D. For the function f(x) = (x − 2)2 + 4, the <span>vertex is (2, 4), the domain is all real numbers, and the range is y ≥ 4. The domain is all x-values available for the function and the range are the y values and in this case it should be greater than or equal to 4. Hope this answers the question.</span>

aliya0001 [1]

Question:

A new auditorium is being built for a college. The balcony has 200 seats. The floor has 25 rows with x seats in each row. The number of people in the auditorium must be under 750 to meet safety regulations. What is the solution of this inequality, and what is its meaning?

Answer:

200 + 25x < 750

Number of seats in a row must be less than 22

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Total = Less than 750

Current Seats = 200

Rows = 25

Seat per row = x

Required

Represent as an inequality

The scenario will be represented as:

Current\ Seats + Rows * x = Total

Substitute 200 for Current Seats

200 + Rows * x = Total

Substitute 25 for Rows

200 + 25* x = Total

200 + 25x = Total

Substitute <750 for Total.

The equation then becomes

200 + 25x < 750

Solving further:

25x < 750 - 200

25x < 550

x < \frac{550}{25}

x < 22

This means that:

Number of seats in a row must be less than 22
