Maya made the diagram below to represent ultraviolet rays, radio waves, gamma rays, and infrared rays based on their properties.

Four waves labeled A, B, C, and D are shown. Wave A has the greatest gap between its consecutive peaks and Wave B has the least gap between its consecutive peaks. Wave C has the second greatest gap between consecutive peaks, followed by Wave D. Which wave best represents radio waves? Wave A Wave B Wave C Wave D

Answer:

Option A, Wave A

Explanation:

Radio waves have very large wavelengths. Its wavelength can be very large ranging from 1 millimeter to 100 kilometers and frequencies can range between 300 GHz to 3 kHz. The lowest range radio wave frequencies are used in sub marine communication.

All other EM waves have wavelength shorter than radio waves. These waves are of three types a) AM radio b) FM radio and c) microwave with microwaves having the smallest wavelength.

Hence, it will be only Wave A that could best represents the radio waves
