<span>The Mexican war of independence against Spain grew out of the Napoleonic Wars. Mexico eventually got their freedom from Spain colonial administration in the year 1821 because of this armed war that lasted 11 years. The war was started by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a catholic priest and he is considered as father of Mexican independence.</span>
