The Manhattan project helped to end the war by creating the atomic bomb.

This secret government project funded by the US government resulted in the best and brightest scientists working on the creation of the atomic bomb. This type of weapon had never been used before in world history. However, at the end of World War II, the US would use this bomb twice. One would be used on Hiroshima and the other used on Nagasaki. The use of the atomic bomb on both of these cities resulted in the unconditional surrender of Japan, officially bringing an end to World War II.

Why did FDR create the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)?
rjkz [21]
Essentially the SEC was created to help protect investors that buy and trade stocks and bonds. The FDIC was created to provide a federal government guarantee of deposits. Basically, both of these were created to limit the risks that go along with savings and investment. Both of them were part of FDR's New Deal. I hope this helps! =)

How did the Supreme Court attempt to justify "separate but equal”?
yan [13]

In the court case Plessy v. Ferguson, the Supreme Court justified that the 14th amendment allowed for separation by race as long as the treatment was equal. However, this case would soon be declared unconstitutional in the Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education. It turned out that African Americans still received inferior treatment even under the separate but equal idea.
