The figure attached has <DEF which is an inscribed angle. An inscribed angle is an angle with its vertex on the circle which is formed by two intersecting chords. According to formulas, the measurement of arc DF is twice the measurement of ∡DEF. Arc DF is equal to 360-248 or 112. Hence ∡DEF is equal to 56 degrees.

the complete question in the attached figure
we know that
angle < DEF is an inscribed angle.
An inscribed angle is an angle with its vertex on the circle which is formed by two intersecting chords.
The inscribed angle measures half of the arc it comprises
the arc it comprises is the arc DCF
the arc DCF is equal to

(360-248)=112 degrees

Hence
∡DEF is equal to arc DCF/2
(112/2)=56 degrees

the answer is
∡DEF=56°

A passenger train left Austin, Texas at 12:00 PM bound for Dallas, exactly 210 miles away; it traveled at a steady 50 miles per
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

 1. 3 hours
 2. 1 hour 45 minutes
 3. 300 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

1. The trains are moving toward each other at a total speed of 50 +20 = 70 miles per hour. Together, they cover the 210 mile distance in ...

 time = distance/speed

 time = 210 mi/(70 mi/h) = 3 h

The trains collide after 3 hours.

__

2. The fly is closing with the freight train at a speed of 100 +20 = 120 miles per hour. Together, the fly and the train cover the initial 210 mile distance in ...

 (210 mi)/(120 mi/h) = 7/4 h = 1 hour 45 minutes

The fly first meets the oncoming freight train after 1 h 45 min.

__

3. The fly is flying for all three hours before the trains collide, so, at 100 miles per hour, will fly 300 miles.

Given rectangles ABCD and A'B'C'D, describe the transformation that takes place from ABCD to A'B'C'D'
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

A 90° clockwise rotation about the origin and a translation of 7 units down.

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all, we need to define the image and pre-image.

 • The pre-image is the rectangle ABCD, before the transformation.
 • The image is the rectangle A'B'C'D', after the transformation.

Second, let's write down the coordinates of each rectangle.

ABCD coordinates:

A(-6,5)

B(-1,5)

C(-1,1)

D(-6,1)

A'B'C'D' coordinates:

A'(5,-1)

B'(5,-6)

C'(1,-6)

D'(1,-1)

The first rule we need to apply is the 90° clockwise rotation which is

(x,y) \implies (y,-x)

Which gives us (5,6), (5,1), (1,1), (1,6).

Then, we use the 7 units-down rule

(x,y) \implies (x,y-7)

Which gives us (5,-1), (5,-6), (1,-6) and (1,-1).

Therefore, the right answer is the third choice.
