The blood vessels also contract and move deeper to prevent loss of energy. The liver then kicks into action and warms the blood for you. Circulating the warm blood makes you feel a sudden warmth and the body temperature is back to normal. Homeostasis operates via a Positive feedback mechanism that accelerates a process and a negative feedback mechanism that limits or lessens a process.

This is a process which inheritable changes occur in an organism over a period of time. It usually is for the benefit of the survival of the select animal species. For example, the human species went from walking with 4 legs to 2 legs in order to obtain food easily through hunting and picking fruits. This change usually takes a very long time to occur and is permanent.

This is a set of chemical reactions that must occur in a living organism to maintain life. These reactions can be anabolic where there is buildup and catabolic where there is breakdown of molecules. Catabolism is a favorite that happens for example breakdown of carbohydrates in the ileum to produce simple sugars that are easily absorbed and taken to the bloodstream for energy.

This is a chemical reaction that strictly occurs in plants with chlorophyll. A reducing reaction occurs in the presence of sunlight to reduce carbon dioxide into glucose whilst producing oxygen. The glucose provides energy for the plant.
