Pros and cons of saving endangered species

Biology
1 answer:
Flauer [41]3 years ago

Answer:

The conservation of endangered species is important for humans as well. A well-balanced ecosystem purifies the environment, giving us clean air to breathe, a healthy water system to support diverse marine life, and arable land for agricultural production.

Explanation:

The health of an ecosystem is maintained by its plants and animals. When species become endangered, it is a sign of an ecosystem's imbalance. This balance is difficult to maintain: the loss of one species often triggers the loss of others. ... By saving endangered species, we are ultimately saving ourselves.

Compare surface, subsurface, and placer mining in terms of damage to the environment.
vfiekz [6]
Surface mining, which is also known as strip mining, is when soil and rock overlaying mineral deposit is removed. It can cause habitat destruction, air pollution from dust particles, soil erosion and pollution. Subsurface mining is removing deposits from the Earth by drilling underneath layers of rock and dirt. To keep the pathways clear, mining companies have to pump out large amounts of water, which go into surface ecosystems. That disrupts the ecosystem by changing the pH conditions of soil and water sources. Placer mining is mining of stream bed deposits for minerals, a way of obtaining minerals and metal resources. Although, because it is small, causes less damage to the surrounding environment it still can disrupt river ecosystems with pollution and sediments.

I hope this helps!!

Q3.29. Three of the following statements are reasons why climatologists have considerable confidence in global climate models (G
dybincka [34]

The statement which is not a representation or accurate description of GCMs is option C which states that "gcms describe both climate and weather in perfect detail because they are meticulously constructed and continuously updated." given that this statement is untrue in regards to GCMs.

GCM is the acronym for Global Climate change Model. These are models created by scientists using well-understood laws of physics and chemistry in addition to many others. This along with the use of real-world data observed in the past produces realistic simulations of weather patterns and storms, along with temperature estimations for the Earth.

The key is to understand that weather and climate are ever-changing entities that rely on many dynamic factors that are in constant change. This makes a perfectly detailed simulation or perfect accuracy predictions virtually impossible, despite the meticulous way in which the process is performed. This is why option C is incorrect.

The question was answered with the assumption that the complete question with options is as follows:

Three of the following statements are reasons why climatologists have considerable confidence in global climate models (gcms). which statement is not?

A. gcms produce realistic weather patterns and storm events, even though these phenomena are not specifically coded in the models

B. gcms produce global mean temperature changes similar to observed real-world changes when the models are driven by realistic historical forcings.

C. gcms describe both climate and weather in perfect detail because they are meticulously constructed and continuously updated.

D. gcms are designed to be driven by basic, universal physical laws that are well understood, such as the conservation of energy, mass, and momentum. reset selection gateway
