Solve for x. Note the equal sign. What you do to one side, you do to the other. Do the opposite of PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponents (& roots), Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction).

First, subtract 65 from both sides

15x + 65 = 35

15x + 65 (-65) = 35 (-65)

15x = 35 - 65

15x = -30

Next, isolate the x. Divide 15 from both sides

(15x)/15 = (-30)/15

x = -30/15

x = -2

-2 is your answer

The head-to-tail length of a species of fish is normally distributed, with a
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

C. -0.34

Step-by-step explanation:

We have that for a normal distribution, the value of z can be calculated using the following formula:

z = (x - m) / sd

where x is the value to evaluate, m the mean and sd the standard deviation, we have those values x = 16.3, m = 17.4 and sd = 3.2

if we replace we have:

z = (16.3 - 17.4) /3.2

z = -0.3437

if we round to 2 decimal places, it would be -0.34, that is, the answer is C.

Describe the solution set of the compound inequality x < 2 and x > 7
vlabodo [156]

Answer:

All values along the x-axis in the shaded regions.

Step-by-step explanation:

The solution set of the compound inequality is any number less than 2 and greater than 7. This means its all the numbers on the number line from 1.99999 to 0 to -9 to -1000 and so forth. And it's also any number greater than 7 including 7.01 to 1000 to 1,000,000. See the graph below to visually see the solution. The solution are all the numbers along the x-axis in the shaded regions.
