Read the letter. Dear Mom and Dad, Last night, I took part in a battle that just might change the war for us. Right before midni

ght, planes began taking off, delivering supplies and soldiers to our destination. As a paratrooper I was being sent to help capture key locations from the enemy. Since it was dark and the weather wasn't the greatest, my pilot dropped me a mile away from my target in Normandy. I had to mix in with an unfamiliar unit, but we were still able to complete our mission successfully. I don't think the enemies even saw us coming! A letter like this likely would have been written by a U.S. soldier in what war? Korean War Vietnam War World War II

Answer:

Second World War

Explanation:

The author of the text says that "... my pilot dropped me a mile away from my target in Normandy."  Because of this, we can see that he was referring to the Battle of Normandy that took place during World War II.

The Battle of Normandy, codenamed Operation Overlord, was the invasion of United States, United Kingdom, Free France, and allied forces in German-occupied France in World War II in 1944. It was a political decision to maintain freedom in Europe, which occurred after the German defeat for the Red Army in the famous Battle of Stalingrad. Seventy years later, the Normandy invasion remains the largest maritime invasion in history, with nearly three million soldiers crossing the Channel from several ports and airfields in England to Normandy, France occupied.

Which of the following describes Johnson's Vietnam War strategy?
juin [17]

The correct answer is C) Comitting large amounts of American troops to the fight and massive bombing.

Lyndon B. Johnson comitted thousands of troops to Vietnam after the Tet Offensive of 1968. This attack by the Vietcong against the US and South Vietnamese forces was a devastating loss. In order to recover from this loss and increase the chances of American success in stopping the spread of communism to South Vietnam, Johnson comitted more troops for reinforcements.

What was the height of the Cold War
avanturin [10]
Historians points out that the cold war reached its height during the Cuban crisis of 1962, when both superpowers, USA vs Soviet union achieved mutually assured destruction, known as MUD.

the Cuban crisis basically resulted from the soviet union placing its nuclear arsenals in Cuba territory, in retaliation of the USA pacing its arsenals in European Nato countries such as Turkey.  could have any of the country overreacted, it would have resulted in another war; This time, all sides  loaded with weapons of mass destruction, and the catastrophe would have been worse than have even been witnessed in history.
