M23 is (3x + 4)º and mz5 is (2x + 11)
Tom [10]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  • same-side interior
  • (3x +4) +(2x +11) = 180
  • 77°

Step-by-step explanation:

Angles 3 and 5 are on the same side of the transversal, between the parallel lines, so can be called "same-side interior angles". These are also called "consecutive interior angles". As such, they have a sum of 180°, so are also "supplementary angles." We don't know what your pull-down menu options are, but perhaps one of these descriptions is on there.

__

Because the angles are supplementary, their sum is 180°. So, the equation ...

  (3x +4)° +(2x +11)° = 180°

can be used to solve for x. Likewise, any of the possible simplifications of this can be use:

  (3x +4) +(2x +11) = 180 . . . . . divide by degrees

  5x +15 = 180 . . . . . . . . . . . collect terms

  5x = 165 . . . . . . . . . . . . . subtract 15

  x = 33 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . divide by 5

__

Once we know that x=33, then the measure of angle 5 is found from its expression:

  m∠5 = (2x +11)° = (2·33 +11)°

  m∠5 = 77°

Which algebraic expression represents "twice the sum of y and 9" A. 2+9y B.2(9y) C.2(y+9) D. 2+(y+9)
zheka24 [161]
"Twice" means to double or times by 2 and "the sum" means the addition of two numbers.

So, C. 2(y + 9) is the answer.

Given the function f(x)=x^2+2x+1, find each value of the function
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

1 9/16

Step-by-step explanation:

F(1/4) means u plug in 1/4 for x

so the equation would be

f(1/4)=1/4^2+2 1/4 + 1

f(1/4)=1/16+1/2+1

f(1/4)= 9/16 +1

f(1/4)= 1 9/16

its not nine teen its one and 9 over 16 just clarification

How to you doing this 5(2c+7)=80
yaroslaw [1]
Hey there!

I know, I know... you don’t have to tell me, I’ve had my share of these long equations that I’m left to just not understand.
Now I know how to solve. I can show you.

What we want to do first is divide both sides by the numeric factor on the left side, then solve. Now we can calculate and find out what C equals!

C= 9/2

^^^ there’s the answer! Happy studying.
