I’m writing a poem for US History, and it’s about things I take for granted that slaves could never have . How should I start it

Answer:

Back Then, "black people" or slaves didn't get much because of their color. Basically they where poor, the only time they would get to appreciate stuff is when their with the white people.., if its just cleaning. Slaves never really got to learn, as for myself i'm forced to be in school no matter what color I am.
