If parent cell has 18 number of chromosomes and mitosis occurs then number of chromosomes remains same in daughter cells while meiosis reduced chromosomes to half, In result of which daughter cell have 9 chromosomes

Further explanation

Mitosis

Mostly mitosis is referred as “cell division,” which means mitosis produces new body cells. Cell duplicates all of its contents, chromosomes are also duplicated which result as two daughter cells.

Meiosis

It is a kind of cell division that decreases the chromosome number considerably, making four haploid cells, each hereditary unique from the parent cell that produce offspring. This procedure happens in all explicitly duplicating single-celled and multi-cellular eukaryotes, including creatures, plants, and fungi. Errors in meiosis bringing about haploid are the main known reason for unnatural birth cycle and the most regular hereditary reason for formative inabilities.

Difference between mitosis and meiosis

Characteristics of mitosis

It includes one cell division

1. Two daughter cells are resulted

2. Results in diploid daughter cells and chromosomes number continues as before as parent cell

3. Little daughter cells are hereditarily indistinguishable

4. Happens in all living beings aside from infections

5. Makes all body cells (substantial?) aside from the germ cells? (eggs and sperm)

6. Prophase is a lot shorter

7. No recombination/traverse happens in prophase.

Characteristics of meiosis

1. It includes two cell divisions

2. Four daughter cells are produced

3. They are genetically different from parents

4. It occurs in plants, animals and fungi.

Mitosis (also known as cellular division) is just copying of cells. So the answer would be 18.If the question were about meiosis (sexual division), then the answer would be 9, because that would make 4 daughter cells, each encompassing half the original number of chromosomes (18).

Vaselesa [24]

In the model, a codon is identified as part of the mRNA strand. A codon is a series of three nucleotides on mRNA that codes for an amino acid.

mRNA

This is one form of RNA that serves as a template for protein synthesis. It is transcribed from DNA and then translated at ribosomes to produce a protein.
