Answer:

2x - 5y = -28

when x = - 19

Substitute the value of x into the equation

That's

2(-19) - 5y = -28

-38 - 5y = -28

-5y = -28 + 38

-5y = 10

Divide both sides by - 5

We get

y = 10/-5

y = -2

Hope this helps

Answer:

y = -2

Step-by-step explanation:

Put x as -19 and solve for y.

2(-19) - 5y = -28

Multiply.

-38 - 5y = -28

Add 38 on both sides of the equation.

-5y = -28 + 38

-5y = 10

Divide both sides by -5.

y = 10/-5

y = -2

Divide 300 in a ratio of 3/7
Talja [164]

in short, we simply divide the whole 300 by (3+7), to get in a 3:7 ratio, and then distribute accordingly.

\bf 300\qquad 3:7\qquad \cfrac{3}{7}~\hspace{5em}\cfrac{3\cdot \frac{300}{3+7}}{7\cdot \frac{300}{3+7}}\implies \cfrac{3\cdot 30}{7\cdot 30}\implies \cfrac{90}{210}\implies 90:210

Check my steps and for part b, the professor wants us to show are work and I don't know how to solve it by hand.
Ugo [173]
Part a is correct.

Part b can be done a couple ways.
1) Use binomial distribution. p = 0.2, n = 144
P(x>3) = 1 - P(x=0) -p(x=1) -p(x=2) -p(x=3)
where
P(x=k) = (nCk)p^k (1-p)^{n-k}

2) Assume a normal distribution with mean = 28.2, stdev = 4.8
z = \frac{4 - 28.2}{4.8} = -5.04
Look up z-value in normal table to find probability.

Hope that helps.

63 :(5X - 3X - 1)=21:3
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

x = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

63:(5x-3x-1)=21:3\\\\or\\\\\dfrac{63}{(5x-3x-1)}=\dfrac{21}{3}\\\\\dfrac{63}{(2x-1)}=7

Cross multiplying both sides,

63=7(2x-1)\\\\9=2x-1

Taking like terms together,

10=2x\\\\x=5

So, the value of x is equal to 5.

The distance, y, in miles, traveled by a car for a certain amount of time, x, in hours, is shown in the graph below:
Kazeer [188]
Answer: The correct answer is the last choice.

In the first segment of the trip, the car goes from 0 to 2 hours and the line is moving up. Therefore, it traveled for 2 hours.

In the second segment, the line went straight horizontal for 1 hour. That means the distance didn't change, in other words it didn't move.

In the last segment, it moved up again for 2 hours.

Simple math help?<br> Solve for x<br> √x+12 = √x+2
lozanna [386]
This is an impossible equation. If sqrt(x) = sqrt(x), and sqrt(x) + 2 = sqrt(x) + 12, then that would mean that 2=12, which is incorrect.
