The arguments for increasing the minimum driving age include for example:

Emotional maturity and experience: individuals between the ages of 16-17 are less emotionally mature than individuals who are 18 or more and as such are less likely to make smarter decisions

Generally safer: individuals between the ages of 16-17 are statistically known to be more involved in fatal accidents than people who are 18 or older

Increase activeness for teens: teens will be less likely to be obese or fat as there would be more probability for this age group to switch to using bikes, walking to their destinations, using bicycles, skateboards for transportation
