At the start, Ben and Rick have the same amount of money. Let x represent that amount.

Rick's money:  x
Ben's money:  x

Then, Ben spends $138.

Rick's money:  x
Ben's money:  x - 138

At that point, Rick has 4 times the amount that Ben has.

x = 4(x - 138)
x = 4x - 552
552 = 3x
184 = x

Rick has $184.

What is the point slope form of the line with slope 2/5 that passes through the point (−4, −7) ?
Sidana [21]

Answer:

The point slope form of that graph would be D) y + 7 = 2/5(x + 4)

Step-by-step explanation:

We know this by plugging into the point-slope form of the equation, which is listed below.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - -7 = 2/5(x - -4)

y + 7 = 2/5(x + 4)

MakcuM [25]

Answer:

The number of bananas that Emily bought was 6 and the number of peaches that Emily bought was 8

Step-by-step explanation:

The complete question is

Emily and her children went into a grocery store and she bought $20.80 worth of bananas and peaches. Each banana costs $0.80 and each peach costs $2. She bought a total of 14 peaches and bananas altogether. Determine the number of peaches and the number of bananas that Emily bought

Let

x ----> the number of bananas that Emily bought

y ----> the number of peaches that Emily bought

we know that

She bought a total of 14 bananas and peaches altogether

so

x+y=14 -----> equation A

She bought $20.80 worth of bananas and peaches

so

0.80x+2y=20.80 -----> equation B

Solve the system by graphing

Remember that the solution is the intersection point both graphs

using a graphing tool

The solution is the point (6,8)

see the attached figure

therefore

The number of bananas that Emily bought was 6 and the number of peaches that Emily bought was 8

What is the surface area of the prism in square feet?
Evgesh-ka [11]

Answer:

The surface area of the rectangular prism is 52 square feet (ft²), if the height is 4 feet, width is 3 feet and depth is 2 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

          The given is,

                    A  prism of

                     Let, h - height of the prism

                            w - Width of the prism

                            d - Depth of the prism

Step:1

        From given,

                     h = 4 feet

                     w = 3 feet

                     d = 2 feet

Step:2

        Formula to calculate the surface area of the rectangular prism is,

         A=2(wd+hd+hw)

       Substitute the values of w,d and h

                           = 2 [(3×2) + (4×2) + (4×3)]

                           = 2 (6+8+12)

                           = 2 × 26

                           = 52

                       A = 52 Square feet

Result:

        Thus the surface area of the rectangular prism is 52 square feet (ft²), if the height is 4 feet, width is 3 feet and depth is 2 feet.
