And improper fractions with a denominator of 4 could be..

\frac{32}{4}

This is because 34 over 4 simplifies to 8

I know it simplifies to 8 because 32 ÷ 4 is 8

8 is in between 5 and 10 as well

Answer:

21/4, 22/4, 23/, ..., etc

Step-by-step explanation:

Improper fractions are characterized because the numerator is greater than the denominator, or what is the same, the fraction is greater than the unit. If an improper fraction is desired whose denominator is 4, you must have a numerator greater than 4. But if you also want the value of the fraction to be between 5 and 10, then the value of the numerator must be an integer between 20 and 40

Examples could be:

21/4, 22/4, 23/, ..., etc

a tree grows vertically along a hillside, the hill is at 16 degrees angle to the horizontal, the tree cast an 18 meter shadow up
tangare [24]
The idea is to create a triangle based upon the info given (see attached drawing). The bottom side (c) represents the length of the tree's shadow cast by the sun (18 ft), whose opposite angle (C) = 68°, the angle of the sun's elevation. The left side (b) is the height of the tree. The top side (a) is not needed, but it's opposite angle (A) is on order to find out B.
Since the hill incline is 16°, the angle A (angle tree makes with the hill) is 90-16 = 74°. Since C = 68 and A = 74, then B = 180-68-74, because all three angles must equal 180° within a triangle. So B = 38°.
Now that we have two angles and a side of our triangle, we can use the law of sines to calculate a missing side (b).
Law of sines: a/sinA = b/sinB = c/sinC
--> b = c×sinB / sinC
b = 18×sin38 / sin68
b = 11.082 / 0.927 = 11.95 ft

Can you explain how to solve this problem
iVinArrow [24]

Answer:

Step 1:

Start by setting it up with the divisor 10 on the left side and the dividend 179 on the right side like this:

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

Step 2:

The divisor (10) goes into the first digit of the dividend (1), 0 time(s). Therefore, put 0 on top:

       0

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

Step 3:

Multiply the divisor by the result in the previous step (10 x 0 = 0) and write that answer below the dividend.

       0

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

      0

Step 4:

Subtract the result in the previous step from the first digit of the dividend (1 - 0 = 1) and write the answer below.

       0

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1

Step 5:

Move down the 2nd digit of the dividend (7) like this:

       0

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1 7

Step 6:

The divisor (10) goes into the bottom number (17), 1 time(s). Therefore, put 1 on top:

       0 1

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1 7

Step 7:

Multiply the divisor by the result in the previous step (10 x 1 = 10) and write that answer at the bottom:

       0 1

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1 7

       1 0

Step 8:

Subtract the result in the previous step from the number written above it. (17 - 10 = 7) and write the answer at the bottom.

       0 1

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1 7

     - 1 0

         7

Step 9:

Move down the last digit of the dividend (9) like this:

       0 1

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1 7

     - 1 0

         7 9

Step 10:

The divisor (10) goes into the bottom number (79), 7 time(s). Therefore put 7 on top:

       0 1 7

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1 7

     - 1 0

         7 9

Step 11:

Multiply the divisor by the result in the previous step (10 x 7 = 70) and write the answer at the bottom:

       0 1 7

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1 7

     - 1 0

         7 9

         7 0

Step 12:

Subtract the result in the previous step from the number written above it. (79 - 70 = 9) and write the answer at the bottom.

       0 1 7

 1 0 ⟌ 1 7 9

     - 0

       1 7

     - 1 0

         7 9

     -   7 0

           9

You are done, because there are no more digits to move down from the dividend.

The answer is the top number and the remainder is the bottom number.

Therefore, the answer to 179 divided by 10 calculated using Long Division is:

17

9 Remainder
