The answer would be 5. A nickel is 5 cents. So 5*5 would be 25 cents. Then the amount of nickels is times 7 and that's how many dimes there are. Which is 35. So then you times 35 by 10 which is 350cents which equals 3.50 $ so then add the 25 cent from earlier with the nickels and you have the amount you needed 3.75$

Which of the following expresses the possible number of positive real solutions for the polynomial equation shown below?
jarptica [38.1K]
In order to figure this out you need to use Descartes Rule. I attached a picture showing Descartes Rule. If the signs changes for when x is positive then the number of times it changes are the possible positive solution. If the sign changes when x is negative then the number of times it changes are the possible negative solutions. With that said the answer is A. View the picture I have attached for the possible + - and imaginary solutions.

Answer = A) One possible positive solution.

Bean seeds from supplier A have 85% germination rate and those from supplier B have 75% germination rate. A seed-packing company
VikaD [51]

Answer:

0.79 = 79% probability that a seed selected at random from the mixed will germinate.

Step-by-step explanation:

Probability of a seed germinating:

85% of 40%(from company A)

75% of 60%(from company B)

Then

P = 0.85*0.4 + 0.75*0.6 = 0.79

0.79 = 79% probability that a seed selected at random from the mixed will germinate.

Y = x + 8
4x – 2y = -12
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

x = 14

y = 22

Step-by-step explanation:

y = x + 8

4x - 2y = -12

Solve

_____________

Since we see that the first equation has y alone, we can substitute it into the values of y in the second equation.

4x - 2(x + 8) = -12

Distribute :

4x - (2(x) + 2(8)) = -12

4x - 2x +16 = -12

Combine like terms :

2x + 16 = -12

Subtract 16 from both sides :

2x = -28

Divide 2 from both sides to get x alone :

x = 14

Now that we know what x is, substitute it in the first equation to get y :

y = (14) + 8

y = 22

Help pls
I’m not dumb lol I just don’t know whether it’s 7x or 14x
I’m assuming it’s 14x
Taya2010 [7]
You are finding the perimeter, which has double of each side length given.

Note: P = perimeter

2(5x - 1) + 2(2x + 1) = P

Distribute 2 to each monomial in the given parenthesis

2(5x - 1) = 10x - 2
2(2x + 1) = 4x + 2

10x - 2 + 4x + 2 = P

combine like terms.

P = 10x + 4x - 2 + 2
P = 14x

C) 14x, is your answer

hope this helps
