The ratio in simplest form is 4:1
this is because  in 8:2 both 8 and 2 can be divided by 2
so if you do the math:
8/2 = 4
2/2= 1
so then set it up in the order it was originally
= 4:1

4:1 because half of 8 is 4 and half of 2 is1

Select the correct answer.
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer:

Option C.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that,

Total number of applicants = 9

Number of job = 3

We need to select 3 applicants out of 9. So, the required number of ways is

^9P_3=\dfrac{9!}{(9-3)!}

^9P_3=\dfrac{9\times 8\times 7\times 6!}{6!}

^9P_3=9\times 8\times 7

^9P_3=504

Therefore, there are ^9P_3=504 ways the positions can be filled because the order in which the applicants are chosen matters.

Hence, the correct option is C.

While Preparing For A Morning Conference, Principal Corsetti Is Laying Out 8 Dozen Bagels On Square Plates. Each Plate Can Hold
USPshnik [31]
We have 8 dozen bagels, or 8*12=96 bagels.  Each plate can hold 14 bagels, so we have enough bagels to fill 96/14=about 6.86 plates.  However, we cannot have a fraction of a plate, so we round up to have a total of seven plates.  To fill all seven plates fully, 7*14=98 bagels would be needed, which is two more than we have.

To summarize, Mr. Corsetti has seven plates of bagels, and would need two more bagels to fill the last one up.
