The functions are:

i) g(x)=3\cdot \sin(x+ \pi )

ii) f(x)=2 \cos(x).

We note that both Sin and Cos functions cannot produces values smaller than -1, or larger than 1.

In other words, the range of both these functions is [-1, 1].

Whatever expression A is, sin(A) and cos(A) are values in [-1, 1].

Assume \sin(x+ \pi ) produced its maximal value, 1, then 3\sin(x+ \pi ) makes this value 3.

Thus, the maximum value of g(x) is 3, as can be also seen in the graph.

Similarly, assume cos(x) produced 1, then 2cos(x) makes it 2. Thus, the greatest value of f(x) is 2.

Answer: max{f(x)}=2, max{g(x)}=3, so g has the largest maximal value.

A general formula for a parabola is x2 = 4py. What is the value of p in the equation x2 = 12y? p =
stepladder [879]

Answer:

p=3

Step-by-step explanation:

The given parabola has equation ;

x^2=12y

The general formula for a parabola is;

x^2=4py

To find the value of p, we need to compare the coefficient of y in both equations;

\implies 4p=12

Divide both sides by 4;

\implies p=\frac{12}{4}

\implies p=3

Mathematics, Help, not sure about my answer on this one
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:

F. 2 1/9

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Substitute q

r = 3(\frac{1}{3^n} )+2

When you plug in <em>n</em> = 1, 2, 3:

n(1) = 3

n(2) = 2.11111

n(3) = 2.3333

So our answer is F.

Draw a fraction that is equivalent to 1/6
iVinArrow [24]
Some equivalent fractions of 1/6 are:
1/6 = 2/12 = 3/18 = 4/24 = 5/30 = 6/36 = 7/42 = 8/48 = 9/54 = 10/60 = 11/66 = 12/72 = 13/78 = 14/84 = 15/90 = 16/96 = 17/102 = 18/108 = 19/114 = 20/120 = 21/126 = 22/132 = 23/138 = 24/144 = 25/150 = 26/156 = 27/162 = 28/168 = 29/174 = 30/180 = 31/186 = 32/192 = 33/198 = 34/204 = 35/210 = 36/216 = 37/222 = 38/228 = 39/234 = 40/240
