Given the graph, you can assume that f(x) is the y of an equation.

When f(2) is given, this means that what is the y value when x=2?

As you can see, the solution is between 8 and 10. Meaning that the closest answer is 9.

Hope I helped :)

state whether the slope of a line passing through (2, -3) and (1, 8) is positive, negative, zero or undefined.
Natalija [7]
Slope = change in y / change in x

          = (8 - -3) / (1 - 2)    =   (8 + 3) / ( 1 - 2)

          =   11 / -1

          = -11

Slope is negative.

deff fn [24]
The distance between the police station and the fire station is x.
The distance between the library and the police station is 3 miles less than twice the distance between the police station and the fire station, so it is 2x-3. This distance is equal to 5 miles.

2x-3=5 \\
2x=5+3 \\
2x=8 \\
x=\frac{8}{2} \\
x=4

The police station and the fire station are 4 miles aparat.

Rainbow [258]

Answer:

The stock price beyond which 0.05 of the distribution fall is $12.44.

Step-by-step explanation:

Normal Probability Distribution:

Problems of normal distributions can be solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

Mean of $8.52 with a standard deviation of $2.38

This means that \mu = 8.52, \sigma = 2.38

The stock price beyond which 0.05 of the distribution fall is

This is the 100 - 5 = 95th percentile, which is X when Z has a pvalue of 0.95. So X when Z = 1.645.

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

1.645 = \frac{X - 8.52}{2.38}

X - 8.52 = 1.645*2.38

X = 12.44

The stock price beyond which 0.05 of the distribution fall is $12.44.
