In their original versions, odes were about some historical event, usually these odes were created to celebrate and publicize the victory of an athlete at the Olympic Games or the exploits of some illustrious warrior.  The odes also had the function of spreading the social conscience among the masses and so they dealt with themes like love, honor, fullness, perseverance, honesty, among others.

I believe from what I see that every sentence has been turned from present tense to past tense. One example could be Number 5- Instead of, 'Peter is going to take the package later.", it could be in past tense, as in Peter already took the package- "Later, Peter took the package."
