How does Munchausen’s Syndrome differ from the type of ordinary occurrences of somatization that we all experience?
Tpy6a [65]

Answer:

Munchausen Syndrome is when a person has the need to make themselves sick, fake diseases or actually make themselves sick. This a form of mental illness that would fall under self harm. Somatization is where a person converts physiological problems to physical. An example would be when you grieve the loss of a loved one. It converts to severe fatigue.

How does the detail "And someone gave little Davy Hutchinson a few pebbles" contribute to the text? (The Lottery)
Alex Ar [27]

The detail "And someone gave little Davy Hutchinson a few pebbles" contributes to the text because it stresses that everyone participates in the lottery, even Mrs Hutchinson's son.

To the people in the story, participating in the lottery is a necessary tradition that will ensure a good harvest. Winning the lottery (although no one really wants to "<em>win</em>") is seen as an honor.

The fact that they have Davy throw pebbles at his own mother proves that the townsfolk want every single person to share culpability for the stoning, even the smallest of children.

Which event is an example of external conflict in American born Chinese
zepelin [54]

D- wei chen punches jun wang for kissing suzy nakamura

A conflict is a problem between two opposing forces. External conflicts are when a character has a conflict with someone or something outside of him/herself. They can be conflicts between the character and another character, the character and nature, or the character and society. In option D, Wei Chen has a conflict with another character, Jun Wang, because Jun Wang kissed Suzy. Wei Chen punches him. All of the other options are internal conflicts. An internal conflict is when the character has a problem within him/herself. Option A is internal because Jin Wang has to deal with the fact that he doesn't like Wei Chen at first. Option B is internal because feelings of jealousy are self-forming. Option C is also internal because understanding cultural identity happens within, not from outside sources.
