One way to tell that an explanation is pseudoscientific rather than scientific is to look at how readily proponents of the explanation will accept evidence to the contrary.

Further explanation

Pseudoscience includes beliefs, theories, or practices that have been or are considered scientific, but have no basis in scientific fact. Pseudosciences are claimed to be both scientific and factual, but are incompatible with the scientific method.

Pseudoscience Examples

:

 • Ancient Astronauts and Crop Circles.
 • Moon Landing Conspiracy or the Flat Earth.
 • Astrology.
 • Polygraphs and Hypnosis.
 • ESP (Extra Sensory Perception)
 • Conversion Therapy.

One way to tell that an explanation is pseudoscientific rather than scientific is to look at how readily proponents of the explanation will accept evidence to the contrary.

Some differences between pseudoscientific than scientific are:

scientific: Personal stories or testimonials are not accepted as evidence.

pseudoscientific : Personal stories or testimonials are relied upon for evidence.

scientific: Consistent and interconnected; one part cannot be changed without affecting the whole.

pseudoscientific : Inconsistent and not interconnected; any part can be arbitrarily changed in any way without affecting other parts.

scientific: Argues from scientific knowledge and from the results of experiments.

pseudoscientific : Argues from ignorance. The lack of a scientific explanation is used to support ideas.

scientific: Uses vocabulary that is well defined and is in wide usage by co-workers.

pseudoscientific : Uses specially invented terms that are vague and applied only to one specific area.

Pseudoscientist has a strong quasi- religious element whereas scientist has evidences to convince to its appeal.

Further Explanation:

Pseudo is the English word which means “fake” and their literature is completely focused on general public. They convince the public on the basis of faith and belief which cannot be verified. The person cannot review, standardized, precise and make a demand for accuracy. Pseudoscientific matters are not based on any evidences and actual phenomena. In this case, failure can be ignored, defended and reverted.

Scientific matter is the written document which is used by specific people or scientist. They are produced by experiments and can be reproducible depending upon the evidences. The matter is composed by the availability of the evidences, by arguments based upon logical and mathematical reasoning. The literature can be reviewed in case of failure and there is rigorous standard for study it closely.

Pseudoscientist earn from delivering pseudo information such as horoscope, prediction and paranormal power etc whereas, scientist has no conflicts of interest in personnel finance, in specific outcome of his studies.
