Identify the simple subject in the sentence "There are too many people on this elevator."
solniwko [45]
The subject is who performs the action indicated by the verb in the sentence. So you can find the subject by asking who to the verb. In this case the question is who are on this elevator, whose answer is too many people. That is the complete subjec. The simple subject is the main word of the subject; it does not include the modifiers. So the simple subject is people.

Which idea is expressed in this excerpt from "Anecdote of the Jar" by Wallace Stevens?
marshall27 [118]
Taking the whole poem into account, I think the correct answer must be C.

The jar is a small, common, impersonal object, but in Stevens' view, it affects the nature, depriving it of its inherent wilderness. Although it is one of a thousand, it still has the power and dominion over nature. Its meaningless existence leaves a negative trail in this world. If the jar was regarded as faceless a person living in a highly commercialized, industrialized world, and the nature as freedom, the parallel would be all the more effective.

Life wouldn't be possible if we did not all have hope .how true os this statement
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

This is very true.

Explanation:

If not even a speck of us had hopes then we would not have anything that we had today. Everything would be dark and glum. People would be hurting themselves and others left and right more than what they are doing now. And there would be no police officers to stop them. Think of it as a zombie apocalypse. Except without the brains. Just lifeless humans wandering around.
