Your goal is to isolate the x variable, so all you have to do here is subtract 6 on both sides.

Your final answer is x ≤ 2.

Hope this helps a lot! :)

X+6<8 looking at this you want to see what x equals
-6  -6  subtract 6 from both sides because the 6 is a positive if it was negative  then you would add 6 to both sides but it is a positive in this problem so you would subtract
so you final answer would be x<2

Find the y value for point F such that DF and EF form a 1:3 ratio. (5 points) Segment DE is shown. D is at negative 3, negative
SVETLANKA909090 [29]
I drew the segment and used Pythagorean theorem to solve for its measure. The line formed is the hypotenuse of the imaginary right triangle.

Among the choices only -1.33 and -1.25 is a feasible choice. But I am leaning towards -1.25 as the y-value of point F based on my diagram. Please see attachment.

The verticals of a right triangle are (0, -6), (6, -3), and (x, -6). Find the value of x.
Nataly [62]
(0,-6), (6, -3), and (6,-6)

If you plot them on a graph there are only two point options (in green and purple) since it's a right triangle but you have to use the one that has -6 as the y value
