They both recently came back to India to bless the marriage between Theseus and Hippolyta. Oberon wanted to make the young Prince a knight but queen Tatiana refused his request.

Angered by his wife disobedience he decided to take revenge on her, Oberon sent his servant Puck to obtain a magical flower from the forest which when spread over the eyelids of a sleeping person, he/she falls in love with the first thing they set their eyes on upon waking up. King Oberon then spreads the juice of the magical flower on Tatiana's eyelids, upon waking up the first person she sets her eyes on is Bottom, the most funny and strange craftsman in Athenian. Tatiana then falls hopelessly in love with Bottom and declares her love for him.
