First find the height

(5*5)+(x*x)=(13*13)  Pythagorean theorem  a squared+b squared=c squared c=hypotenuse(the longest side)

25+(x*x)=169

(x*x)=144

x= square root of 144=12

height=12cm

AREA=1/2base*height

AREA=5*12=60

ANSWER  A)

AREA=60 squared cm

A 10 bit string is to be randomly picked from all possible 10 bit strings. What is the probability that you picked a string with
allochka39001 [22]

Answer: 0.9990

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The number of bits in a string = 10

The value taken by a bit is either 0 or 1.

Therefore, the probability that the bit is zero = \dfrac{1}{2}=0.5

Binomial probability distribution formula :-

P(x)=^nC_xp^x(1-p)^{n-x}, where P(x) is the probability of getting success in x trials , n is the total number of success and p is the probability of getting success in each trial.

Now, the probability that you picked a string with at least one zero is given by :-

P(x\geq1)=1-P(z

Hence, the  probability that you picked a string with at least one zero = 0.9990

Find The equation of the line which passes through the point (14,-14) and is parallel to y= -1/3x+23/6
marishachu [46]

Answer:

y = -⅓x - 9⅓

Step-by-step explanation:

-14 = -⅓[14] + b

-4⅔

-9⅓ = b

y = -⅓x - 9⅓

* Parallel lines have SIMILAR <em>RATE OF</em><em> </em><em>CHANGES</em><em> </em>[<em>SLOPES</em>], so -⅓ remains the way it is.

Formulate a system of equations to represent this situation, with f = the amount of money that Frank spent and r = the amount of
GarryVolchara [31]
We have:

 f: <span>the amount of money that Frank spent.
 r = the amount of money that Rachel spent.
</span>
 The system of equations that represents this situation is:

 1) f+r=15.75
 2)r=2f

 Let's substitute r=2f into the equation 1):

 f+r=15.75
 f+2f=15.75
 3f=15.75
 f=15.75/3
 f=5.25

 Now, we must substitute f=5.25 into the second equation, as it shows below:

 r=2f
 r=2x5.25
 r=10.50
<span>

 How much money did they each spend?</span> The answer is:

 Frank spent 5.25$ and Rachel spent 10.50$

GH bisects CF, CF=2y-2, and CD=3y-11. Find CD and Y
Naily [24]
Since GH bisects CF, therefore:
CD = (1/2) CF
3y - 11 = (1/2) (2y -2)   (multiply both sides by 2)
6y - 22 = 2y - 2
6y - 2y = -2 + 22
4y = 20
y = 5

Substitute with the value of y in the equation of CD, you get:
CD = <span>3y-11 = 3(5) - 11 = 15 - 11 = 4 cm</span>
