Read the two body paragraphs. What is the intent of this section? How is the information she shares different from what might be

on her resumé?
Mr. Frederick Hansom

Personnel Director

Best Preschool Ever

1525 East Main

Townville, CA 68175

Dear Mr. Hansom:

I am interested in the Preschool Teacher’s Aide position you posted at Jefferson High School. As the oldest of four siblings, I have plenty of experience caring for young children, and I find that I enjoy it immensely. In fact, my career goal is to teach elementary school.

I have heard wonderful things about your preschool classes. Several of the children I care for are enrolled, and their parents speak highly of the program. I believe my enthusiasm and love of young children will be a perfect match for your teacher aide position. For the past four years, I have provided child care to neighbors and friends. I accompanied one family on their two-week vacation to Disneyworld as a nanny, caring for the three children when the parents wanted an evening out and assisting in their supervision at the amusement parks. My conscientious work has resulted in many referrals, which in turn has brought in new clients.

To further enhance my understanding of young children, I have selected elective courses that will assist me in my goal and improve my skills. Additionally, my volunteer work for two summers as a teacher’s aide at our local Head Start program has given me invaluable experiences in working with groups of children and assisting a teacher. For example, I helped supervise the students on several field trips, including a visit to the zoo, a dairy, and a local theater performance. On those occasions, I was entirely responsible for my group of 8 to10 preschool students. At the end of the summer, I was given a certificate of appreciation and thanks for my job well done.

I believe that I can apply many of my skills, qualities, and acquired knowledge to working with children in your preschool. I’d love the opportunity to speak with you about the position in more detail. I will follow up with a phone call next week after you’ve had time to review my resumé. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Chondra Leon

Within the two body paragraphs, Leon is depicting her relevant skills and experiences to the employer. For example, in the first body paragraph, Leon explains that she was a nanny for 3 children to showcase her supervisory skills, especially with young children. She bolsters this point in the second paragraph, when she further describes her volunteer work, in which she oversaw a group of small children on several field trips.

Although Leon has most likely listed these experiences on her resume, she is able to expand on her roles and how they fit to the desired position within this cover letter. On her resume, Leon probably has shorter bullet points listed under each experience to explain her roles, but she has more space in the cover letter to craft an image for the employer. Additionally, her resume probably has more logistical information (for example the specific dates in which she worked as well as the location of each experience).

The causal relationships among plot events in ancient Greek tragedy stem from the belief that nothing happens by chance.
Everything that happens is already predetermined, and there is nothing you can do to change it - they didn't believe in chance, but in destiny.

m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

When the sentence is already clear.

It sounds awkward to split the infinitive.

Too much information is inserted between the two parts of the infinitive.

Explanation:

Splitting an infinitive means to put words in between an infinitive. This grammatical construction occurs when a word is put in between the particle "to" and a verb.

Writers should avoid splitting an infinitive as much as possible. This is because it may sound awkward in splitting the infinitive. It can also lead to the inclusion of too much unnecessary information in the sentence. Moreover, it is unnecessary to split infinitives when the sentence is already clear.

Thus, the correct answers are the first, second, and fifth options.
