Please apply the properties of rational exponents to simplify expressions with radical or rational exponents. Explain the steps
schepotkina [342]

Step-by-step explanation:

Product property

 • If the bases are the same, you don't multiple them. However, if they are the same, you do multiple for example : (2³ * 2¹ = 2⁴.when the bases are the same) (2³ * 3¹ =6⁴. When the bases are not the same
 • We add the index.

Quotient property

 • Same here, if the bases are the same, they stay the way they were
 • We subtract the index

Power property

 • Here we multiple the index because of the bracket for example : (9²)²= 9⁴

Negetive exponent property

 • When ever the index has a negative sign its convected to a fraction, for instance : 9¯² = 1 /9²
 • Note, when it turns to a fraction th index becomes positive

Describe the location of the point having the following coordinates. negative abscissa, zero ordinate between Quadrant II and Qu
Marianna [84]

Answer:

The location of the point is between Quadrant II and Quadrant III

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The abscissa refers to the x-axis and ordinate refers to the y-axis

so

in this problem we have

the coordinates of the point are (-x,0)

see the attached figure to better understand the problem

What are the steps for adding and subtracting mixed numbers with unlike denominators
Valentin [98]
Well, there are different ways to do this if you are really familiar with fractions, but "officially" :P

1) convert mixed numbers to improper fractions.

rule: a b/c = (ac+b)/c

2) make all fractions have a common denominator...

a/b+c/d

(a/b)(d/d)+(c/d)(b/b)

(ad/bd)+(cb/bd)

3)

The simplify your final answer with greatest common denominator or convert back to mixed number if needed...
