It depends which number is greater. If you have -13 + 10 the result is -3. Always think that negative numbers are on the left side so as 13 is in the left side you move 10 times to the right because 10 is positive. And when you move 10 times to the right you stop at -3. Just draw a line with positives and negatives that will help a lot. Start with small numbers

See which one is bigger, use the sign for the bigger number, then find the difference between the numbers.
for example, +3 +(-7)
7 is bigger than 3, so use the sign for 7, which is a negative
the difference between 3 and 7 is 4, so negative 4 is the answer

The perimeter of a scalene triangle is 14.5 cm. The longest side is twice that of the shortest side. Which equation can be used
wel

Answer:

9.3 + b = 14.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Longest side of ∆ = 2a = 6.2 cm

If the shortest side is, a, and we are told that the longest side is twice the shortest side, therefore, length of shortest side is

The sum of the 3 sides = perimeter = 14.5 cm

Thus,

a + 2a + b = 14.5 cm

Plug in the values of a and b

3.1 + 6.2 + b = 14.5

The equation that can be used to find the side lengths is 9.3 + b = 14.5

Answer:

1). Option (b)

2). Option (d)

3). Option (d)

Step-by-step explanation:

Question (1)

For Pythagoras triplet,

(Largest number)² = (Number 1)² + (Number 2)²

a). 5² = 5² + 2²

   25 = 25 + 4

   25 = 29

  Not True.

b). 5² = 3² + 4²

   25 = 9 + 16

   25 = 25

   True.

c). 10² = 1² + 5²

   100 = 1 + 25

   100 = 26

   Not true.

d). 2² = 2²+ 2²

   4 = 4 + 4

   4 = 8

   Not true.

Therefore, Option (b) is correct.

Question (2)

1 - \frac{1}{5} = \frac{5}{5}-\frac{1}{5}

      = \frac{5-1}{5}

      = \frac{4}{5}

Therefore, Option (d) is the answer.

Question (3)

Property of triangle → Sum of lengths of two sides of a triangle should be greater than the measure of third side.

a). 6 + 3 > 2 ⇒ 9 > 2 [True]

    6 + 2 > 3 ⇒ 8 > 3 [True]

    2 + 3 > 6 ⇒ 5 > 6 [False]

    Triangle is not possible.

b). 2 + 8 > 3 → 10 > 3 [True]

    8 + 3 > 2 → 11 > 2 [True]

    2 + 3 > 8 → 5 > 8 [False]

   Triangle is not possible.

c). 5.5 + 2.5 > 2.5 → 8 > 2.5 [True]

   5.5 + 2.5 > 2.5 → 8 > 2.5 [True]

   2.5 + 2.5 > 5.5 → 5 > 5.5 [False]

   Triangle is not possible.

d). 3 + 6 > 7 → 9 > 7 [True]

    3 + 7 > 6 → 10 > 6 [True]

    7 + 6 > 3 → 13 > 3 [True]

   These are the sides of a triangle.

Therefore, Option D is the answer.

Given a 10 ft length tree trunk and with a radius of 3 ft what is the weig of the tree trunk section if its density is 45lb/ft*3
Aloiza [94]
The tree trunk is a cylinder so we apply that formula:

It is VCylinder = density x pi x radius x height
So the given in our problem is:
Density = 45 lb/ft^3 = 720.8 kg / m³
Radius = 3ft
Height = 10 ft

Insert variables that in our equation:

VCylinder = 720.8 kg / m³ * pi * 3ft² * 10 ft =  5771.26 kgs
