The method that is appropriate for separating a mixture of iron and aluminium is:
A. using a magnet

The reason is because magnets attract various metals and alloys, including iron. But magnets do not attract aluminium. So putting a magnet above the mixture of iron and aluminium it'll pick the iron filings up and stick to them, and that way it will separate the iron form the mixture (from the aluminium).
