x is a letter which is called a variable in algebra.

It stands for a number. It can be any number, but it can be only one number at a time.

If you have just x, then it is the same as 1x.

You have 1x, meaning you have 1 time an unknown number.

Then you add to it 4x, or 4 times the same unknown number.

Then you add to it 6x, or 6 times the same unknown number.

1 + 4 + 6 = 11

That means you now have 11 times the unknown number x, or 11x

x + 4x + 6x = 11x

Part A: Determine if the expression is one of our special products. If so, identify it by its general form:
kondaur [170]

Answer:

1.

Part A: Yes, it is (a - b)².

Part B: a² - 2ab + b² => (x - 6)² = x² - 12x + 36.

Part C: x² - 12x + 36.

2.

Part A: Not a special product.

Part B: Binomial distribution => (x + 8)(x + 1) = x² + 9x + 8.

Part C: x² + 9x + 8.

3.

Part A: Yes, it is (a + b)²

Part B: a² + 2ab + b² => (3x + 2)² = 9x² + 12x + 4.

Part C: 9x² + 12x + 4.

4.

Part A: Yes, it is (a + b)(a - b), a difference of squares.

Part B: a² - b² => 4x² - 49

Part C: 4x² - 49

5.

Part A: Not a special product.

Part B: Binomial distribution => (x - 5)(2x - 5) = 2x² - 15x + 25.

Part C: 2x² - 15x + 25

Just 4 people who need helppp
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

1/2 ÷ 4 = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

Dividing fractions is as easy as pie. Flip the second and multiply.

1/2 ÷ 4 = 1/8

A whole number secretly has a 1 underneath, like this: 4/1

Flip the second number over to get 1/4, then multiply straight across.

\frac{1}{2} × \frac{1}{4} = \frac{1}{8}

Try to do the same for the other answers and see if they're right (they're not).

1/8 x 1/6 = 1/48

1/3 x 1/4 = 1/12

1/9 x 1/2 = 1/18

Please help with this question, thank you :)
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

1/2

((-2)^2-(4*2)^1/3)/abs(-2*2)

-2^2 = 4

4*2 = 8

-2*2 = -4 and abs of that is 4

4-(8)^1/3/4

8^1/3 = 2

4-2 = 2

2/4 = 1/2

Please help with areas
Softa [21]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

7) The formula for determining the area of a parallelogram is expressed as

Area = base × height.

Length of base = Area/height

Therefore,

Length of base = 7/2 = 3.5 feet

8) The formula for determining the area of a trapezoid is expressed as

Area = 1/2(a + b)h

Where

a and b are the length of the bases

h is the height. Therefore

21 = 1/2(2 + 4)h

21 = 3h

h = 21/3 = 7 inches

9) Area = base × height.

Height = Area/Length of base

Height = 28/14 = 2 inches

10) a and b are 10 inches each.

Area = 1/2(a + b)h

Therefore,

35 = 1/2(10 + 10)h

35 = 10h

h = 35/10

h = 3 inches
