The Direct National Vote is a system that involves the counting of every vote the citizens have made. After the count, if no candidate has reached a previously accorded percentage of votes, then the 2 candidates that have the majority of votes enter a Runoff Voting. The voting is then decided by exactly the same principle as in the first round. After the official vote counting, the candidate that has the majority of the votes is declared as the winner.

The people who support this voting system argue that, besides eliminating the contradiction of the losing of the candidate who wins the popular vote against the candidate who wins the electoral college vote, it also favors the entry of third-party candidates and grants them a better chance of winning.

Which of the following does NOT describe John Calvin's conception of Predestination?
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

E. election can be gained through good works.

Explanation:

John Calvin born on the 10th of July, 1509 was a French pastor, reformer and theologian during the times of protestant reformation in Geneva, Switzerland.

John Calvin was a calvinist because he preached a doctrine that was later known as calvinism.

In his work titled "Institutes of the Christian Religion." he stated that, all human beings are wicked and weak; thus, no matter what, only those who were predestined would be privileged to go to heaven.

Basically, the doctrine of calvinism known as predestination emphasizes that, God has chosen or selected some people to be destroyed eternally and others to be saved (go to heaven). Also, those people who have been predestined for eternal destruction cannot be saved even by their good works.

Hence, the statement which best describes John Calvin's conception of Predestination are;

I. Faith is a gift from God, freely given and not something that can be earned .

II. The choices one makes in life do not improve one’s chances of entering

heaven .

III. An individual’s actions accord with God’s will .

IV. The elect are chosen by God.

How has art evolved over the years? Explain in 1-2 paragraphs please (3 would be greatly appreciated)
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

Ancient art, dating from around 3500 BC, hails from Egypt, China, Persia, Mesopotamia, and Greece. Ancient art shows the beginnings of more imaginative works, which focus less on what could be seen in everyday life, and more on what might be seen in the afterlife. Gods and goddesses were particularly popular subject matter, as was what these deities would do once a person had ‘crossed over’ to their kingdom. Symbolism was rife in ancient art, and the art itself was used as a way of instructing the common people in the laws, practices, and religion of the country.

In Egypt, for example, the pharaohs were also captured in art, and would always be shown as the largest figure in a painting. This was to show the pharaoh’s importance and was not drawn to scale. Animals were often depicted but were drawn in unusual colours, each one having a different meaning.
