So your equation will be:

2(x+6) + 2(x+2) = 2(x+4) + 2(2x-2)

First, divide everything by 2

x+6+x+2 = x+4+2x-2

Then, combine like terms

2x+8 = 3x+2

Move the variables (the x's) to one side and the numbers to the other by subtracting 2x from one side and then 2 from the other

6 = 1x or 6 = x

Now that you know that x = 6, you go back to Earl's length and width equations

Length = x+2
Width = x+6

And plug in the value of x you got (6)

Length = 6+2 = 8
Width = 6+6 = 12

There are you answers! Hope this helped! (remember to add units, in this case the units are feet)

D(n)=6-4(n-1) Find the fifth term in the sequence
LiRa [457]

Answer:

5th term: -10

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the nth term in the sequence, you can substitute n into the equation:

d(n) = 6 - 4(n - 1)

Since we want the 5th term, we substitute 5:

d(5) = 6 - 4(5 - 1)

d(5) = 6 - 4(4)

d(5) = 6 - 16

d(5) = -10

The Guinness book of world records states that the tallest trophy is about 270 inches. If they stacked 4 of those trophies on to
castortr0y [4]

Hey there!

If the tallest trophy is about 270 inches, and you stack 4 of those trophies on top of each other, you'd be multiplying 270 times 4.

270×4= 1,080

So, if you stacked four 270-inch trophies on top of each other, they would be 1,080 inches high.

Could this be considered an equation? If yes, would the answer provided be correct?
ella [17]

Answer:

This does not represent an equation.

Step-by-step explanation:

When the numbers of the correspondent letters are counted in the given question, then it equals with the numbers that is given in the answer section.

But there could be a difference between Z and z, W and w.

Hence, it can not be an equation.
