{2x-y=32

{<u>y-5x=13      </u>(+)

<em>(2x-y)+(y-5x)=32+13</em>

2x-y+y-5x=45

-3x=45    /:(-3)

x=-15

2x-y=32

2*(-15)-y=32

-30-y=32

-y=62

y=-62

<u>The answer:</u> (-15; -62)

2x-y=32
y-5x=13

transform the second equation to make the elimination possible
2x-y=32
-5x+y=13

now, our ys match, and we can drop them out

     2x-y=32
+
     <u>-5x+y=13
</u>     -3x+0=45

<u>x= -15
</u>
Now we use the meaning of x in one of the original equations

2*(-15)-y=32
-y=32+30
y=-62

The answer is (-15;-62)

Given the parent function f(x) = x^2 describe the translation of the function y=(.2x)^2?
Bad White [126]

Answer:

Option C.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let f(x) = x ^ 2 be a quadratic function

Then we do the function y = f(bx) = (bx) ^ 2

Where b is a real number.

If b> 1 then the function y = (bx) ^ 2 represents a horizontal compression of the function y = x ^ 2

If  0 Then the function y = (bx) ^ 2 represents a horizontal expansion compression of the function y = x ^ 2 by a factor of \frac{1}{b}

In this case, the equation is:

y = (0.2x) ^ 2 Then:

b = 0.2

0

Thus

y = (0.2x) ^ 2 is a horizontal expansion of the function y = x ^ 2 by a factor of \frac{1}{0.2} = 5.

The correct option is: Option C
