- Sayuri is much different then the child that she was once, as she now has seen the brutality of all mankind and that she had faced some of the worst situation, starting from being sold to some strangers who treated her badly and then to been imprisoned by those men in such an unbearable situation. While, the littel child Chiyo is way different then her as she knows how to smile freely and has the freedom to speak. And more importantly the little child was not all alone but she was accompanied by her family irrespective of there financial and social situation she had her.
