A barrel of tomato sauce has spilled on a tile floor. The sauce flow can be expressed with the function r(t) = 2t, where t repre

sents time in minutes and r represents how far the sauce is spreading.
The spilled sauce is creating a circular pattern on the tile. The area of the pattern can be expressed as A(r) = πr2.

Part A: Find the area of the circle of spilled sauce as a function of time, or A[r(t)]. Show your work. (6 points)

Part B: How large is the area of spilled sauce after 5 minutes? You may use 3.14 to approximate π in this problem. (4 points)

Part A:
Given in the statement
r(t)= 2t
A(r) = πr2
So to find A[r(t)]
You have to plug r(t) into A(r)
Answer: A[r(t)] =π(2t)2=4πt

Part B:
The statement tells you t=5 min and
π=3.14

So plug in you values
A[r(t)]=π(2(5))2=4* 3.14*5=62.8

A triangle with sides of lengths 16,30,and 35 is a right triangle?<br> a. true<br> b. false
Anon25 [30]

-- The square of the shortest side . . . 16² = 256
-- The square of the medium side . . . 30² = 900
-- Their sum . . . (256 + 900) = <u>1,156</u>

-- The square of the longest side = 35² = <u>1,225</u>

1,156 and 1,225 are not equal, so these 3 numbers
<em>can</em> be the sides of a triangle, but it's not a right one.

The statement is <em>false</em>. (choice 'b')

S=n(a1+an)/2 gives the partial sum of an arithmetic sequence. What is the formula solved for an?
Veseljchak [2.6K]
S = n(a1 + an)/2
2S = n(a1 + an)
2S = na1 + nan
nan = 2S - na1
an = (2S - n a1)/n

SCORPION-xisa [38]

Answer:

Initial Value= $200, Rate of Change= $10 per hour (or just $10)

Step-by-step explanation:

The initial value is what Jaylah started with, and in this case, she starts with $200.

The rate of change is how much Jaylah earns, in this case per hour. It says that she earns $10 an hour, so the rate of change is $10.
