What is the length of segment AE? Show your work.
MariettaO [177]

AC+CE=AE

Pythagorean theorem is a big part of this problem. a^2+b^2=c^2

Part AC

8^2+6^2=c^2

64+36= 100

c^2 =

\sqrt{100}

or

5^2 to match c^2.

Part CE

It is similar to the other one. It's just scaled. 6 to 8, 4 to....6

4^2+6^2=c^2

16+36=52

c^2 =

\sqrt{52}

It is not a perfect square. So that will be the answer.

What needs to happen before you can use the reason CPCTC?
zaharov [31]
Answer: before you can use the reason CPCTC it must be stated that the triangles are congruente.

Explanation:

1) CPCTC stands for Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent.

2) Therefore, to use that reason you first need to prove that the the triangles are congruent.

3) Once, it has been stated that the triangles are congruent, then you can use the reason to state the the corresponding segments are congruent which will let you to state the length of any side of one triangle known the corresponding side of the other triangle, because they are congruent (have the same length).

Find the volume of the given cone in terms of π.
galben [10]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of cone is given by the formula:

Volume of Cone = \frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h

Putting h = 6 and r = 9 in the formula, we get:

V=\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h\\V=\frac{1}{3}\pi (9)^2 (6)\\V=\frac{1}{3}\pi (486)\\V=162 \pi

D is the correct choice.
