Answer:

Maximum amount of allowable tons for Jason truck is

2.25-1.075= 1.175 tons

In pounds= 2350 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Jason truck weighs 2150 pounds.

But 2000 pounds = 1 ton

So

2150 pounds = 2150/2000

2150 pounds = 1.075 tons.

But the brigde reads not more than 2.25 tons.

Maximum amount of allowable tons for Jason truck is

2.25-1.075= 1.175 tons

In pounds = 1.175*2000

In pounds= 2350 pounds

Since one ton is 2000 pounds, 2.25 tons is equal to 4500 pounds. Now do
4500-2150=2350
So he can carry 2350 more pounds
Hope this helps

How to do equations with a variable on both sides x+3= -x - 5
ss7ja [257]
Explanation:
When we have variables on both sides we look for the coefficient that is lower than the two and reverse the sign.

Example:

1x+ 4 = 2x+3

We reverse 1x sign because it is lower so we will be subtracting

2x-1x = 1x

1x+3=4

We would then solve for x.

Let's begin to solve!
Step 1:

You would look for the coefficient or variable that is less and reverse the sign.

In this question the lower number is -x and so we would reverse the sign to add.

x+x= 2

Step 2:
We now have

2x+3 = -5

Step 3:
We will subtract 3 to -5 to find X

-3+-5= -8

Step 4:
2x = -8

Divide both sides by two fo find x

Our answer:

\boxed{x = -4}

-

Summary:

We first looked for the lower coefficient (in this case variable). We then flipped the sign and solved for x.

Identify the solution(s) of the system of equations,3x-2y=6 5x=5-25y if any.
alisha [4.7K]
5x=5-25y => x = 1 - 5y;but, 3x-2y=6 => 3( 1 - 5 y ) - 2y = 6 => 3 - 15y - 2y = 6=>-17y = 3 => y = -3 / 17;x = 1 - 5 * ( -3 / 17 ) => x = 1 + 15 / 17 => x = 32 / 17.

Joey built a skateboarding ramp. The base of the ramp along the ground is 13 feet, and the top of the ramp is 7 feet off the gro
patriot [66]

Answer:

14.77 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the pythagoras theorem to get the length of the ramp

l² = 13² + 7²

l is the length of the ramp

l² = 169 + 49

l² = 218

l = √218

l = 14.77 feet

Hence the length of the ram is 14.77 feet

iT COST $9 TO GO TO PETE'S POTTERY PLACE TO MAKE YOUR OWN BOWLS $3 PER BOWL. NATALIE GOES TO PETE'S POTTERY PLACE AND MAKES B BO
kenny6666 [7]
X= total monthly cost
B= # of bowls made

To make one bowl, it's the entry fee plus the price per bowl:

= $9 + $3B

To make 5 bowls, we multiply the above expression by 5. This will give our total cost for the month.

x= 5($9 + $3B)

ANSWER: x= 5($9 + $3B)

Hope this helps! :)
