<span>36 pieces of ribbon is what you can get from the 5 rolls. Each roll is 9 feet and 1 foot= 12 inches so we multiply 9 times 12 to get the total number of inches available per roll (108 inches) then times that by 5 the total number of rolls. This brought the total to 540 inches available for the project and divide that by 15 inches and end at 36 pieces.</span>

Ming throws a stone off a bridge into a river below.
AURORKA [14]

Answer:

1 seconds after being thrown, the stone reaches its max height

Step-by-step explanation:

The parabolic (quadratic) equation is:

h(x)=-5(x-1)^2+45

Lets expand this in the form ax^2+bx+c, so we have:

h(x)=-5(x-1)^2+45\\h(x)=-5(x^2-2x+1)+45\\h(x)=-5x^2+10x-5+45\\h(x)=-5x^2+10x+40

We can say the values of a,b, and c, now to be:

a = -5

b = 10

c = 40

The number of seconds at which the max would occur is given by the point, x, at:

x=-\frac{b}{2a}

We know a and b, let's find the seconds, x,

x=-\frac{b}{2a}=-\frac{10}{2(-5)}=-\frac{10}{-10}=--1=1

Hence,

1 seconds after being thrown, the stone reach its max height

A cylinder has a radius of 8 meters and a height of 4 meters. .
Novay_Z [31]
<h2><u>Solution</u> :-</h2>

Given : Radius of cylinder = 8 m

Height = 4 m

Volume of cylinder = πr²h cu. units

= 22/7 × 8 × 8 × 4 m³

= 804.57 m³ (approx.)

Curved surface area = 2πrh sq. units

= 2 × 22/7 × 8 × 4 m²

= 201.14 m² (approx.)

Total surface area = 2πr(r + h) sq. units

= 2 × 22/7 × 8 (8 + 4) m²

= 2 × 22/7 × 8 × 12 m²

= 603.43 (approx.)
