Answer:  4

Step-by-step explanation:

Here the given function,

f(x) = 2^{x+2} - 5

For x= 0, y-coordinate = f(0) = 2^{0+2} - 5 = 2^2-5 = -1

For x = 1, y-coordinate = f(1) = 2^{1+2} - 5 = 2^3-5 = 3

Thus,  The average rate of change from x = 0 to x = 1

= \frac{f(1)-f(0)}{1-0}

= \frac{3-(-1)}{1-0}

= \frac{3+1}{1}

= 4

Jia is tiling a floor. The floor is a square with side
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

36 tiles

Step-by-step explanation:

First, find area of the square floor knowing the formula as;

Area= s^{2}

where s= side of a square.

If one side of the floor is 12 feet, then Area= 12^{2} = 144ft^{2}

Next, find the area of each tile using the same formula and given s=2 feet;

Area(tile) = 2^{2} = 4ft^{2}

To find the number of tiles needed to cover entire floor, divide area of the floor by area of one tile; 144 / 4 = 36 tiles

Crazy boy [7]

The answer is C) 30.

Explanation:

-3x + 6 = 2x -24

6 + 24 = 2x + 3x

30 = 5x

x = 30/5 = 6

The area of a rectangle is expressed as x4 - 9y2. What are the possible dimensions of the rectangle?
AnnyKZ [126]

This is a stupid question.  The teacher who asked this needs to go back to school.

A = x⁴ - 9y²

That's going to be a number.  As long as it's positive we can choose any length for our rectangle L and we can compute the width by W=A/L.   So the correct answer is the dimensions are L by  (x⁴ - 9y²)/L.

They don't want the correct answer.  They want you to factor this expression.  We'll do it, but don't believe for a second this factoring somehow constrains the possible dimensions of some rectangle.

We use the difference of two squares, a²-b² = (a+b)(a-b)

A = x⁴ - 9y² = (x²)² - (3y)² = (x²+3y)(x²-3y)

Answer: x²+3y  by  x²-3y
