Rangelands are lands that are used for grazing of the livestock. This type of land is predominantly consisted of the native floral species typical for the grasslands, like grasses (tall and short), shrubs, flowers, herbs. They are also referred to as just grasslands, cause in general that is what they actually are - a vast grasslands. They are not all the same and have differences from region to region, so there are some that are predominantly composed of short grasses in more arid regions, some that are with tall grasses, in some the percentage of shrubs, flowers, and herbs is much higher, while at others they are very rare. The rangelands are dispersed in most parts of the world.
Europe saw the colonization of Africa as an opportunity to acquire a surplus population, thus settler colonies were created. With this invasion, many European countries saw Africa as being available to their disposal.
