162 water bottles in 9 cases, write each ratio as a unit rate

162 / 9 = 18/1....18 water bottles per case

I dont really see why ur answer was marked " no " because all u did was reduce the fraction instead of simply dividing 162 by 9.....but the way u did it resulted in the same answer....because ratios are basically just equivalent fractions

Find the missing side or angle.
nikklg [1K]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  41.1

Step-by-step explanation:

A triangle solver can do this nicely. b ≈ 41.1

__

You can use the law of cosines for the purpose.

  b² = a² +c² -2ac·cos(B)

  b² = 120² +110² -2(120)(110)·cos(20°) ≈ 1692.1148

  b ≈ √1692.1148 ≈ 41.13532

The missing side is b ≈ 41.1 units.

What is the result of isolating x^2 in the equation below (x+1)^2+(y-8)^2=9
taurus [48]

Answer:

x² = 8 - (y - 8)² - 2x

x² = 16y - y² - 2x - 56

Step-by-step explanation:

∵ (x + 1)² + (y - 8)² = 9

∵ x² + 2x + 1 = 9 - (y - 8)²

∴ x² = 9 - (y - 8)² - 2x - 1

∴ x² = 8 - (y - 8)² - 2x

OR:

∵ x² = 8 - (y² -16y + 64) - 2x

∴ x² = 8 - y² + 16y - 64 - 2x

∴ x² = 16y - y² - 2x - 56

If you sell 30 items at $200 a piece and your commission rate is 20%, how much commission do
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

$1200

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 2 ways I immediately think about to solving the problem.

1) You multiply 30 and 200 , then multiply the product by .2 (i.e. 20%)

This way, you'll find out what the total amount was($6,000), then you multiply it by your commission rate.(.2 or 20%) to find your total profit($1,200).

2) You multiply 200 by .20 , then multiply the product by 30.

This way, you'll find out what your commission would be for a single item($40), then multiply by the total items sold (30) to find your total profit($1,200).
