During the middle of his speech, he relates the present economic troubles to those of the past. The goes into greater detail until he explains how past Americans have over come there challenges and that we will do the same.He concludes his speech with how he plans to bring back economic stability <span>to American</span>

Part of the Great depression, that took place soon after the World War I, was caused by the participation in the war in an indirect way. This was when America bailed out Germany some money so that it could be able to repay the damage that it had caused through the War. In this plan, Germany was to manufacture and pay the Americans in due time. In addition, the great depression was caused by the drought that caused agricultural produce to decrease. In this speech, Roosevelt is calming the people. He said that people had nothing to fear except the fear itself and that everything would eventually work out.
