Because they had no power to be heard and if they said anything or tried to protest they would be fired and then people who could not find a job would be hired so they just dealt with the hard work and low pay.

Both of them will have different prospective of looking at things. One will think in the mature way and the other will be thinking in its childish way. So their point of view may not match which leads to disputes and the relation cannot last.
