There's an easy way to write this problem that will help you figure it out. Write the equation as: 2x + 14 = 56 or 56 - 14 = 2x.

56 - 14 = 42 42 / 2 = 21 Your final answer is 21!

21 poppyseed muffins. Let’s say that poppyseed muffins = x and blueberry muffins also = x but + 14 more would be
x + 14. So to solve x + x + 14 = 56
Simplifies to x=21 and 21 + 14 = 35 both combined equals 56.

Can you please help me with this? I don't even know where to start
SashulF [63]
You need to take the estimate and add the VAT.  Then take this total cost and divide it by 12 to solve for the monthly payment needed...

(1450)(105/100)/12=126.875

Clearly, a monthly payment of 130 is enough to cover the yearly cost.

The tax on a $600 vase is $54. What should be the tax on a $1700 vase?
Pavlova-9 [17]
So a tax was mentioned, but not the tax percent, which is needed to find out that tax for a 1700 dollar vase.

Divide 54 by 600, and you get 0.09 or  9%.

1700 * 9% = 153

So your tax is $153.

Hope this helps. :)
