fist put them in one form so you can compare so 5 3/4= 5.75 
and 5 7/8= 5. 87 and finally 5 4/5= 5.8
Now you put them in order depending on their decimals 
Least to greatest: 5 3/4, 5.79, 5 4/5,  5 7/8, 5.9 
                                            (  the middle number--> 5 4/5 =median)
