The answer is: Aristotle and Saint Augustine.

During the European Middle Ages there was a form of production and preservation of knowledge known as Scholasticism, which was a system of theological and logical thought —developed in early European universities— based mostly upon the thought of Aristotle and early Church Fathers, such as Saint Augustine, who, strongly influenced by some Neoplatonist philosophers, preserved for the Middle Ages the thought of Aristotle´s teacher, Plato.

Similarities between science fiction and dystopian fiction
Readme [11.4K]

Answer:

Both facets of fiction depict an ultra-realistic or deeply unrealistic setting, albeit display factual elements and messages for which one living in the "real world" can relate to (author's note). Both take place in a world that could resemble the world we live in, but in an unrealistic manner. Dystopian fiction generally focuses on the location as it's science fiction-esque essence, but science fiction is more of a broader term.

EDIT: Both are used to describe a genre of fiction.
