The main idea of Dwight Okita's poems, like the one called Response to executive order 9066, is that cultural heritage and physical appearances do not determine what it means to be american. In those poems, Okita talks more on how the people can experience culture. he expresses this by telling the story about a girl who is overwhelmed by the american culture but that in her trip, she finds comfort and friendship from an american young lady.

“Ethical interpretation is pertaining to or dealing with morals or the principles of morality; pertaining to right and wrong in conduct. 2. being in accordance with the rules or standards for right conduct or practice, especially the standards of a profession.”
From an ethical interpretation of this poem I would interpret this poem as moral and emotional. Emily was too busy to die, so death was kind enough to slow down and take her. Emily is forcing the idea of being comfortable with death by comparing a grave to a house. She’s calling death home. What was going through her head is unknown. The ride is showing how death goes slow and the horse is immortality. Time has stopped as death has stopped.

I think it is the most rewarding thing in the world. It gives you a sense of accomplishment and makes you want to work harder. Sometimes all we need is a little validation. I love when my parents, teachers, family members or friends look beyond my surface and recognize what I have done.
