Paraphrase what Okita’s poem says about the topic of American identity

English

The main idea of Dwight Okita's poems, like the one called Response to executive order 9066, is that cultural heritage and physical appearances do not determine what it means to be american. In those poems, Okita talks more on how the people can experience culture. he expresses this by telling the story about a girl who is overwhelmed by the american culture but that in her trip, she finds comfort and friendship from an american young lady.

How does culture impact gender roles?
erastovalidia [21]

Too many ways. One being that some cultures encourage women to be more womanly and to wear makeup and dress more feminine. Or some will influence men to be "strong" and not show their feelings.

What can active readers do that is similar to science-fiction authors? (5 points)
yawa3891 [41]

Answer:

active readers can make informed predictions

Explanation:

An active reader will be able to make inferences out of the hints in a story. The writer gives this clues for the reader to be implicitly informed and for him / her to draw inferences. A science - fiction writer does the same; he / she can predict what will happen in the future from past and present information. A science-fiction writer is generally well informed and updated, which will help him/ her to forecast the future.
